Organizational skills and time management for effective study planning.

Managing all resources, including time, is critical to the achievement of people's long-term and short-term goals. After reading this week's article, “Owning Your Learning” by Megan Stone, looking back on my past academic progress, I can see how my organizational skills affect the effectiveness of my study plan. As a healthcare worker and full-time student, poor use of time leads to problems with my health and relationships with people around me (family, friends, and colleagues). Developing good organizational skills, prioritizing each day's tasks, and setting deadlines to monitor progress are essential.
Having a well-balanced and planned day is just as important as acquiring skills and getting good grades in school. "Time is not limitless, and students need to learn how to manage it to have academic and career success."(stone,2014, Effective Planning). Developing and using effective study planning and organizational skills to avoid academic failure and stress helps me stay on track and take ownership of my studies.
By combining techniques learned from "Owning Your Education" (Stone, 2014) and "Finding Balance in Medical School" (Alphie Yip, 2020), I will work smart and become an active learner to excel in my academic journey and career.

  1. Hi Addisalem,
Learning a study plan that works for you is key for school. I do think it takes time to find what works for you. Once you figure it out it makes things so much easier.
