Benefit of Technology and how it is changing societies
When
I think about technology and its role in the world I live in, the first thing
to think about is how easy it is for me to communicate with all my family and friends who are living 8,176 miles (about 13158 km). Chatting, listening to their
voice or being able to see them on video call
for all these years that I lived far away from them and
still able to connect is amazing. From sending gifts to attending meetings from
my computer, sitting
half the world away made my life easier.
Our way of
communication, expressing our values and stories both individually and as a
society changed with technology. Technology helped and changed society in all
aspects. One of the area technologies changed is learning. The use of radio
transmitters in 1937 to reach students in the outbreak of polio and internet
learning at the time of covid-19 lockdown are two big examples that shows how
technology is helping and changing the way society reacts when crises happen.
Information technology
is changing everything. Businesses are becoming increasingly digital to increase
profit and expand their business. They can track and analyze the trend in the customers
demand with technology tools for better planning, business strategies and
profit. Today, collages are offering online classes to meet students need. Information
technology is transforming and changing our interaction, communication, and the
way we do business activities.
As Martin
Wolske explained on the A Person-Centered Guide to “The mutual
shaping of social and technical components is highly complex and as seen,
unseen, and unforeseen positive and negative impacts on individuals and the things
that they value being and doing. We shape them and we are shaped by them.
Others shape them and are shaped by them. And yet, too often we miss seeing
inside the black box that
we are an active part of, even if we don’t know we are.” We are changing with it.
